We are pleased to announce that our project has been selected for a grant under the “Future-Oriented Co-Creation Project for the Global South (Small-Scale Demonstration / Third Call),” implemented by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), as part of Japan’s FY2023 supplementary budget.
This initiative aims to demonstrate the effectiveness and economic viability of technologies, systems, or institutional solutions that are ready for practical application, specifically in Global South countries. These demonstrations serve as a step toward commercial scalability.
■ Project Overview
Project Title: Malaysia / Pilot Project for Upcycling Food Waste Using a Catalytic Low-Temperature Carbonization System
Target Country: Malaysia
Project Summary: Our project utilizes catalytic low-temperature carbonization technology to convert organic waste into biochar, significantly reducing transportation costs and CO₂ emissions through volume reduction. The resulting biochar is then repurposed as a raw material for bioplastics and biomass fuel for power generation.
By implementing this innovative process, we aim to contribute to the development of a circular economy model in Malaysia and the advancement of Japan’s environmental technologies.
Our mission is to help build a next-generation resource recycling system and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
