On September 29, 2025, representatives from TSUNAN SAKE BREWERY CO., LTD. visited the Center of Garage, an open-innovation hub in Cyberjaya, Malaysia, where they explored the latest developments in food and agriculture technologies, as well as sustainability trends across Asia.
During their visit, they engaged in discussions with several innovative companies in Southeast Asia working in sustainable agriculture and the food industry. As part of these exchanges, they reviewed our pilot testing process, where spent coffee grounds are carbonized into bio-char using our catalytic low-temperature carbonization technology. The resulting bio-char is currently being evaluated for potential applications as a soil conditioner, fertilizer substitute, and biomass fuel from an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) perspective.
TSUNAN SAKE BREWERY CO., LTD. has a strong commitment to reducing environmental impact and promoting resource circulation. Leveraging Japan’s traditional fermentation technologies, the company continues to advance initiatives in food-loss reduction and regional industry revitalization.
This visit provided an opportunity for the company to deepen its understanding of the technical compatibility between fermentation technologies and bio-char production, as well as the broader potential for advanced utilization of agricultural residues. The exchange also opened new possibilities for future collaboration in circular and sustainable agriculture.
